Introduction

Choung Jae-Yong received his D.Phil in Science and Technology Policy Studies from University of Sussex (SPRU) in 1998. Since then, he continued to hold senior research and teaching positions at Techno-Economics Department of Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI, 1998-2001) and Professorship at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST, 2001-). He led the Center for Technology and Innovation Policy (CTIP) as Director from 2005. In addition, he also holds the position of Director at Post Catch-up Research Centre (PCRC) at KAIST since 2011. His current research includes theoretical development as well as empirical investigation of transition phase to leadership (Post catch-up) of East Asian latecomer firms and countries. In particular research on technological learning and accumulation of (non)technological capabilities in Korean firms and innovation indicators during post catch-up period.  ​
